Master Chong and his team of instructors have obviously dedicated the their lives to their craft. This is more than a profession to them, it’s their purpose. It shows. This isn’t some cheesy, feel-good, fake school where you pay money, and they hand you fancy colored belts. They instill discipline, and strong, values in their students. They take an active role in coaching AND mentoring their disciples as they develop into young men and women. I am so proud of the progress my son has made in this program.
The facilities are clean, and spacious. The class sizes are small enough to afford each student the individual attention they need. The class is conducted with structure and intention, and they make the best use of every minute. I would give them ten stars if google would let me.
Taekwondo Generations has surpassed our expectations in every sense. I am a person with extremely high expectations so that is no easy feat. From our initial phone calls with Mrs Chong, her attentive follow-up and detail oriented nature. She recalled my son's name when we first showed up to the school and was incredibly warm and receptive. Master Chong and Master An both are the secret sauce to this school in my opinion, each bring a lot of presence and energy to every class. Almost each class they will do a tiny demonstration of a move giving the kids a glimpse of the levels of Taekwondo they may reach one day. Mrs Chong is a great compliment to the classes as she steps into help a kiddo who might be unfocused or needing a small tip with a move, her gentle and attentive nature adapts to address the various needs of a wide spectrum of kids. I also admire the positive energy and high level of energy all 3 instructors bring to every single class. They are great at providing each child little snippets of instruction during class to help them individually finesse their form. They address disruptive kids in an assertive yet kind way, they single out kids that are showing focus or effort for a quick word of praise or recognition and truly meet each child where they are at, helping stretch them step by step to something greater. Besides all that they have done a great job investing into the actual academy interior, are meticulous about cleanliness and presentation, integrate technology and marketing to communicate and educate the community on all things Taekwondo. I suspect Master Chong is always working on small changes to keep working to greater excellence...it shows! At every stage Master Chong has been curious of our expectations and impressions, always open to feedback and any insights we may have, making me feel like he is extremely invested in each of his students.
Master Chong and the staff at Taekwondo Generations have been such a blessing to our family. They each take the effort to know each child and family member that walks through the door. As a parent, it means so much to me that they are intentional about embracing each student’s journey to success while also pushing them to become better with each class. They respect the students, and in return, the students are learning how to respect adults and peers. As a teacher, I’m incredibly impressed with the level of planning and differentiation in each lesson. My son is never bored because he is engaged through multiple learning styles each class. He strives to be a black belt master one day, and I have full confidence he can meet this goal with the support of everyone at Taekwondo Generations.
I can’t say enough good things about Taekwondo Generations. Master and Mrs. Chong, as well as Master An, truly make you feel like a part of their family while bringing such a vibrant energy and abundance of patience that it’s humbling. They teach discipline, manners, a new language, self defense…all while keeping the kids laughing and smiling! It’s an incredible gift. My daughter struggles with ADHD as well as being very shy, and she has flourished at this school in just a matter of weeks. We have tried dance, gymnastics, and music- this seems to be her niche. Our experience with Taekwondo Generations has been wonderful. The instructors are energetic and inspire students to succeed. When they are teaching something new they are kind and constructive with their comments toward students. They are not only teaching Taekwondo skills but life skills. Taekwondo Generations was my birthday present to myself on my 40th birthday. Having been very involved in Taekwondo in my youth I was searching for a dojang that embodied the core values of Taekwondo that had become so important to me as a young man. Values such as self-discipline, humility, hard work, and most importantly the community you find in a great Taekwondo School. Taekwondo Generations is the embodiment of those values!
Coming back to the sport in my 40’s (it was well over 20 years since my last class when I started at TKD Generations) has been its own lesson in discipline and humility but I have enjoyed every minute and am so glad to have found my new Taekwondo do home. Master Chong and His wife have been so great to me as I have gotten re-acclimated to the sport. They are always encouraging and supportive both in and out of class.
I have now been at the school since we opened and have re-earned my second-degree black belt and am continuing to train on weekly basis. I can’t imagine a better place to be practicing this sport I have loved since I was a boy.
I have also had the pleasure of joining the staff of Taekwondo Generations and I can attest to the fact that Master Chong holds himself first of all but also our staff to the highest standard for teaching and working with our students and their parents to see each student reach their own best. We love love LOVE Taekwondo Generations. My husband and I literally fight over who gets to take our son to class. It is so much fun to watch! All the instructors are incredible. They have a powerful yet calm demeanor and bring amazing energy to every single class. Not only do they know each child by name, but they know their strengths and weaknesses. Even though the classes may have a large number of students, the instructors give each student individual attention throughout the class and work with them individually. They also break out into smaller groups, so each belt level can practice the skills for their level. Master Chong, Mrs. Chong and Master An are all exceptional at what they do. They know how to motivate the students in class, but also open their eyes and teach them important life lessons! My son has trouble focusing and gets bored easily, but the instructors know how to keep him engaged, and he LOVES coming to taekwondo!
Patience and passion. That’s all I have to say about this school. These teachers truly have a passion for teaching. At every single class they are giving 110% to their students, and expecting the same in return. Good class or bad class, they are there to amp the students up and instill confidence when doubt sets in. The patience they have with my son and the other students make me want to be a more patient person. There is no other school like it in town. We first encountered Taekwando Generations and Master and Mrs Chong during a demonstration class they organized for my children’s school. As relatively new immigrants to both the USA and GA, we have faced the same challenges that most new immigrants face in a new country,particularly when it comes to children. Our son Christopher was immediately hooked on TKD Generations after the demonstration class and we immediately signed him on for the first couple of lessons which were offered freely. We still remember him proudly wearing his Dobok for his first official lesson with Master Chong. Several months later, Christopher is a newly minted yellow belt with an undying passion for TKD Generations. He has greatly improved in his forms, kicks and punches, but what impresses us the most as parents go way beyond that. As an energetic 8 year old boy, Christopher has struggled to channel his energy into productive ventures and has challenges with focus and concentration especially with his schoolwork. Reflecting now on the past few months, we realize the enormous contribution made by Master and Mrs Chong to Christopher’s physical and cognitive development. I was pleasantly surprised at the genuine interest Master Chong showed for Christopher’s schoolwork and his social interactions with others. Master Chong would often ask him, just before a class started, how he is doing at school and even how he relates to his siblings. Master and Mrs. Chong know the names of every student and their parents and seem to understand each child’s unique temperament and abilities. No wonder they are able to provide customized lessons for each student. The single most significant improvement we have witnessed in Christopher has been his new found confidence and improving focus on his schoolwork. Christopher would relate taking on an academic a challenge such as arithmetic to how he progressed from white belt to yellow belt; focus, repetition and determination to overcome. This school year, the results of Master and Mrs Chong’s influence is patently obvious. Christopher is no longer scared to confront “difficult subjects” at school as he now believes that with repetition, focus and determination he can master any subject. He considers his timetables to be his mathematical poomse😂. We are grateful for the selfless way in which TKD Generations operates. The Dojang is operated under strict CDC guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety.

My two girls, 8 and 6 years old, have been part of Taekwondo Generations for almost 8 months, fairly soon after the studio opened, and I honestly can't find the words to express how much we appreciate Master and Mrs. Chong and everything they teach. Great school, Master Chong is a great instructor very dedicated to his students, my son started training with Taekwondo Generations and I saw how he became dedicated and responsible about taekwondo and school as well, after a few months I have decided that I also would join the School, I have been in the program now for three months and I feel much better physically and mentally, especially after a LONG day when I go to school I feel like I can refresh my mind and renew my energy, also my son and I have became much closer due to this activity.
My two sons have been learning Taekwondo here since February. Since day 1 their classes have been the highlight of their week! Master Andrew Chong was the Tae Kwon Do Master instructor for my daughters and myself for nearly 10 years. I did alot of research and visited another school before going to taekwondo generations. After meeting Master Chong and Mrs Chong and having our first class, I signed my daughters up immediately. Master Chong is very professional, patient, takes his craft seriously and makes every student feel seen and important. They are an absolute delight to know and work with. I have known Master Chong since 1994, when I started Tae Kwon Do. He had already been training for many years and I always looked up to him and the other black belts. I am both eager and I am pleased to share how Master Andrew Chong has not only impacted my TKD journey, but also my life in a positive way. My family, wife and two children truly had the pleasure of training with and learning from Master Andrew Chong for more than a decade, beginning in the year 1996. My story regarding my, journey in TKD is not about the belt ranks, state competitions, or awards; rather, it is from an educator’s perspective “character development.” I have been a high school teacher for more than thirty years and have witnessed the value of what the TKD school represents that is “World Class Tae Kwon Do.” People enroll in TKD for many different reasons: to get in shape, increase flexibility, self defense, and mental discipline or simply being a part of a family. For me it was all the above and some especially feeling apart of another family that stood for something. During my one on one personal training experience with Master Chong, even before he became a Master, he never belittled me: instead he understood my high expectations of myself and pushed me because he believed in me. There was no ego, no flexing, no showmanship in his approach in handling me he only made me dig deeper. Master Andrew Chong met the individual needs of each family member because he develops a personal professional relationship with ALL of his students.
To this day I still find myself talking about a young man whose grace, humility, self control, compassion and excellence far exceeds his youthful years. I shake my head and smile because Master Andrew Chong was and continues to be a role model for me through his actions. It has been said that "the apple does not fall from far from the tree." LOL! That’s right! The name of the dojang Taekwondo Generations echoes what I know and what I believe has been passed down from his father Grandmaster Chong. I was a student of taekwondo for 21 years and was taught both by Grandmaster Chong for the first 8 years, and then by his son, Master Andrew Chong. Master Chong’s mastery of and dedication to taekwondo is unparalleled and he is able to transmit that ability through his teaching and individual attention to each of his students, regardless of age or ability. I have known Master Andy Chong since I was a child. At the time, I was a five year old white belt and he was my fifteen year old Taekwondo assistant instructor. Patient, skilled, and filled with enthusiasm, he was without a doubt my favorite instructor. Fast forward to a little under ten years later, I was myself starting as a teenage assistant Taekwondo instructor and Master Chong began his first day leading our Buffalo, NY dojang. I went on to work under him for the next four years and experienced his teaching first hand. I have seen him galvanize a group of rowdy six-year olds into focused energy, as well as inspire a group of 40+ year olds (including my mom) to higher levels of physical fitness. What makes Master Chong unique is that he connects and forms a relationship with every student he encounters, and manages to devote time to each individual no matter how large the class. His teaching style effectively combines youthful enthusiasm with sage-like wisdom, and brings the best out of students. Simply put, he is the best in the business.
Now years later, though I work in a hospital as a physician, I still think back to the impact Taekwondo, and especially Master Chong, had on my life. I would not be where I am. Through Taekwondo, I grew into a stronger, and more self confident individual. And under Master Chong's guidance, I developed leadership skills that will last my lifetime. I owe so much to Taekwondo and am enormously grateful to Master Andy Chong for his years of mentorship.
